Extrusion-Link has designed an efficient, yet simple to use co-extrusion system.
Engineered to fit all types of extruders, we can offer 2-12 stream co-extrusion dies. Each die is bespoke, with easy manual adjustability allowing the operator to change the wall thickness of the pillow.
Speciality pillows with very fine structures similar to wafer textures are possible, along with ribbed and stranding effects. Multi-layer products are also available.
Our technology allows the customer to produce either an empty pillow which maintains its structure even after transportation and drying, or a filled pillow on the same system.
Extrusion-Link can offer two or four stream creamers for injecting jams, liquid chocolate or savoury fillings into the pillow.
Once a tube is filled it will travel to the crimper where is it pinched to the desired length before drying.
Our system creates no waste during the crimping process and can be integrated into an existing line with ease.
Co-extrusion opens up completely new markets for producers and creates a range of products that they can offer without greatly changing the process. The extrudate can be left empty or be filled with a variety of materials including chocolate, fruit pastes as well as sweet and savoury creams, and can be made into a variety of shapes including pillows, tubes and bars.
Co-extrusion products can be designed for the cereal, snack or petfood markets and Elink is able to offer materials, recipe and process advice for such products.
Just by adding a new die with a simple clip-on system unlocks huge opportunities for companies to create new products with relatively little investment.
